![]() Working in retail cosmetics gives me some wonderful opportunities to attend trainings about other lines that we carry in the department. They are fairly quick, little classes that are held right there on the sales floor or in one of the back storage rooms presented by a rep from the company and we call them "stay and plays". I make a point to always attend when I hear there is one going on. I recently had the opportunity to go one for ARCONA and I was so excited to learn about this line that I had heard great things about, but personally had no experience with. Let me start out by saying that ARCONA PRODUCTS CONTAIN NO... petrochemicals, binders or fillers, chemical stabilizers, parabens, sodium lauryl sulphates, perfumes, dyes, or any other caustic, toxic ingredients. Whoa- that is seriously impressive! I got to dive right in and learn about their Basic 5 Regimen that is the core of their products. The system is customized by skin type and includes these 5 steps: AM: Exfoliate/ Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect PM: Cleanse/ Tone, and Regenerate. Next we were introduced to a couple of other products they offer... The Triad Pads, Wine Oil, and the Wine Hydrating Mask.

![]() I have a dream… Goals for my business and this blog- because sometimes it feels like the first step to making things happen is to clearly write out what you want. Posting it makes it that much more real. Someday I would love to have my own makeup studio. A fun space where clients can come and hang out, get their makeup done, and leave feeling gorgeous. This studio may be stocked with a makeup line that I believe in and feel proud to recommend, or it may eventually have my own brand. When I am not working in my future studio I want to continue to do bridal beauty and provide on location services for my client's special events. Something that would be wonderful would be to create an artist's network and build up the sense of community between all the wonderful fashion & beauty photographers, wardrobe stylists, hair and makeup artists that call San Diego home. I know I can't be the only one that is tired of having to go to LA for work. If we build it here in San Diego they will come. Girl Heart Babble Borrowed this heading from my friend and fellow makeup artist Julia Kaye. It perfectly described what it is that I have in mind for this blog. Not on a schedule. Not trying to be the next anything... Just trying to be the myself. I may babble about products, recent gigs, even what it takes to be a makeup artist in this ever changing industry. Basically whatever is in my heart at the moment. Looking forward to the journey! Hope you join me!! Is there anything that you would love to see from me? Please comment below and let me know |
